Art Croquet Summer and Winter - Bill Gorcica
Art Croquet was first installed at ArtHouse - New London, Minnesota, July 2008 on a green lawn with a white picket fence.
The set celebrated the wildlife of western MN with hand-carved and painted wickets with spinning whirligig tops.
Above: ArtHouse interior electronic installation with Arduino board and plungers to accompany real croquet outdoors.
The installation contains an electronically controlled interface with eight plungers that trigger images and sounds to be played back and displayed. This project was created using Flash and an Arduino board to control the buttons and animations. This gives the idea but allows only one click at a time whereas the actual plungers can be operated simultaneously by eight players.
Art Croquet re-installed at ArtShanty Projects - Medicine Lake, Minnesota, January 2009 on ice and snow
