CELL (Cultural and Environmental Landscapes Laboratory) logo, 2006, designed for an art/science research station which is a joint venture between St. Cloud State University and Mille Lacs Kathio State Park.
The work was created as vector art for scalability and is being used as letterhead on stationery, in screen presentations and on large-scale signage. The imagery fuses the profile of an archaelogical artifact representative of the park (Kathio style pottery) with an aerial view of a string of wild rice lakes along the Rum River and part of Lake Mille Lacs. Researchers and students travel from the field station, the central dot in the logo, along this route to study significant cultural and environmental issues.
